The company unveils what it is calling the industry's first multilayer ceramic (MLC) chip capacitor with a unique internal structure that allows ESR values to be set to any value within a specific range while maintaining the same capacitance. The component reportedly stabilizes ESR values and can control circuit impedance. Already in mass production, the capacitor is available in 1608 and 2012 configurations. Target applications include communications base stations and high-end PCs, power-supply decoupling, and dc/dc converter input/output smoothing.
