Power Inductor Trims Down To 0.7-mm High

Aug. 25, 2011
Joining the BR Series power inductors, the BRL1608 measures 1.6 mm x 0.8 mm with a maximum height of 0.7 mm.

Joining the BR Series power inductors, the BRL1608 measures 1.6 mm x 0.8 mm with a maximum height of 0.7 mm. Also entering the fold is the BRC2012 measuring 2 mm x 1.2 mm with a maximum height of 1.4 mm. Compared to current BRC1608 components with a maximum height of 1 mm, the BRL1608 realizes a reduction in height of 30%. In addition to size and height trimming, the component achieves a dc resistance of 0.13Ω at an inductance of 1 μH while the BRC2012 specifies 0.06Ω at 1μH. Sample price for either inductor is $0.20 each. TAIYO YUDEN USA INC., Schaumburg, IL. (847) 925-0888.
