The Surge Protection family of Class Y2/X1 compliant devices has been designed to offer the highest capacitance values in the 1808 size. This capacitor is suited for telecommunications equipment applications, including modems, faxes, telephones and other electronic equipment susceptible to overvoltage surges. Developed in either COG or X7R dielectrics, the parts range in capacitance from 4.7 pF to 220 pF for the COG and from 150 pF to 1 nF for the X7R. The devices have a rated voltage of 250V ac and operating temperature range from ?55°C to +125°. They are approved and certified by TUV and meet the electrical specifications of IEC60384-14 and EN132400. Additional specifications include insulation resistance of greater than 100 G? at +25°C and greater than 10 G? at +125°C and dielectric strength of 2 kV ac and 3 kV dc. The capacitors have been designed specifically for use in equipment specified to IEC60950. SYFER TECHNOLOGY LTD., Norfolk, England. +44 (0) 1603 723310.
