The new SMRF 1010 series of commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) inductors assists design engineers with their efforts to address the market need for lower cost systems in military and other RF applications. The inductor is specifically designed for applications in military communications (space, satellite, radio and GPS), as well as in crystal oscillators and wireless networks where military specification products have traditionally been used due to the lack of commercial equivalents. Inductance of the component ranges from 0.12 µH to 27 µH. Current ratings range from 880 mA to 120 mA DC, based on a 35°C temperature rise and a 90°C ambient temperature. This device is targeted for use in RF applications where requirements call for wire bond or surface mount inductors designed with wrap around gold plated termination on a ceramic base. Applications for this series include all RF signal circuitry in communications equipment, test and measurement equipment, medical diagnostic equipment and industrial process control equipment. Pricing is $2.28 each. GOWANDA ELECTRONICS, Gowanda, NY. (716) 532-2234.
