The TAW Series tantalum capacitors integrate fuses to protect against short circuits and high dc leakage currents. The components disconnect from the circuit and enter failsafe mode when the internal fuse exceeds the current limit. They offer high capacitance values and low equivalent series resistance values, making them suitable for high reliability applications including aerospace, automotive, servers, and telecom infrastructure systems. In contrast to conventional devices relying on an embedded lead-wire fuse, the TAW tantalum capacitor series is lead-free and RoHS compliant. Pricing starts at $0.65 each/10,000. AVX CORP.
