Wire-wound on ceramic tubes and enamel coated, these 0.1( to 1.5M(, 25W-225W, 5% tubular resistors come in fixed and adjustable configurations, and are also available in non-inductive versions and with 1% tolerance and other values. The power resistors are used in DC and low frequency AC circuits where appreciable amounts of power need to be dissipated. They are rated at 350¡C when suspended horizontally in free air and are made using wire that is heavier than that normally used. This enables the resistors to transfer more heat from the interior to the terminal, reducing hot spot temperatures and dissipating overloads quicker. E.A.P., Etobicoke, Ontario, Canada.
