A new miniature ceramic filter, the Model CEROO32A, is designed for global positioning system (GPS) applications operating in the 1,575 MHz frequency range. The filter, which measures 4 mm x 4 mm x 2 mm, employs the companyÕs patented monoblock design and advanced processing technologies. With very low 1.2 dB insertion loss and high rejection of PCS and cellular band signals at 50 to 60 dB, the device offers handset manufacturers a technology that meets, or exceeds, the industryÕs exacting performance standards in an ultra-small package. A target market for the filter is next generation cell phones that will incorporate GPS receivers to enable operators to meet the FCC mandated E-911 service specifications, which require the capability to globally pinpoint the source location of cellular-based 911 emergency calls.
