Ultracap Keeps A Very Low Profile

April 8, 2010
As part of a license agreement with Maxwell Technologies, the Type PC5 ultracapacitor is engineered to provide extended power availability during dips, sags, and outages in main power sources as well as to relieve batteries of burst power functions.

As part of a license agreement with Maxwell Technologies, the Type PC5 ultracapacitor is engineered to provide extended power availability during dips, sags, and outages in main power sources as well as to relieve batteries of burst power functions. It employs a flat prismatic cell design incorporating hermetically-sealed, stainless-steel cells.  As a result of this unique construction, the component exhibits an extremely low profile of 5.1 mm maximum. The PC5 ultracapacitor is capable of accepting charges at the identical rate of discharge, features accessible terminals, and an offers an electrostatic storage capability to facilitate over 500,000 duty cycles with a 10-year lifespan. Price for the PowerBurst Type PC5 ultracapacitor is $8 each/100. TECATE INDUSTRIES, San Diego, CA. (619) 398-9750.
