For power-sensitive applications, the UltraGuard Series zinc oxide based multilayer ceramic varistors exhibit a leakage current of 2 µA maximum. They feature non-linear, bi-directional voltage/current characteristics similar to back-to-back Zener diodes and an EMC capacitor in parallel. Available in 0402, 0603, and 0805 sizes with two-element packages in 0405 and 0508 sizes and four-element 0612 packages, low- and high-capacitance versions are on tap ranging from 40 pF to 3,000 pF.
