In addition to a wider voltage range, lower ESR ratings, and a higher ripple current capability than existing models, the PXA series of low-profile, vertical-mount solid polymer aluminum capacitors now offer more standard models, including a smaller, 6.3 x 5.2 mm case size. A conductive polymer functions as the electrolyte in these devices, which can withstand two reflow soldering cycles when exposed to lead-free alloy having melting points between 210ºC and 230ºC. The series has a capacitance range of 10 to 1,000 µF and a voltage range of 2.5 to 25 Vdc. The leakage current is 0.2 CV maximum after two minutes at 20ºC. Temperature range is -55°C to +105°C. Rated life is 2,000 hours at 105ºC. And standard case sizes range from 6.3 x 5.2 mm to 10 x 7.7 mm (D x L). Pricing for the SMT caps starts at $0.41 each/10K. UNITED CHEMI-CON, Rosemont, IL.
