Fitting into a package measuring only 3" x 5" x 1", the VLT80 Series is said to offer the smallest full-featured 80W convection-cooled switching power supplies available today. The new switchers boast of a power density exceeding 5.3W/in.3, an ac-to-dc conversion efficiency of greater than 86%, and MTBF of up to 200,000 hours.
The new open-frame, lightweight (10 oz.) switchers are well-suited for use in a wide variety of products, including computing, data networking and telecomm equipment. They are available in single- and quad-output versions, with the former offered in 5V/12A, 12V/6.5A, 15V/5.5A and 24V/3.5A models and the latter also including a 3.3V/10A model. Prices start at $61 each/100 for single-output units and $77 for the quads.
