Offering 18 models, the Q75 series quarter-brick dc/dc converters feature input voltage ranges of 18V to 36V and 36V to 72V and output voltages from 1.8V to 24V. The components are said to improve upon the open-frame design of the company’s PowerWatt 75W series via an integrated nickel-plated aluminum case and anodized aluminum heat sink. These features pair with proprietary potting materials, promising to minimize thermal resistance from the multilayer PCB to the case. The case also provides six-sided shielding to eliminate EMI and RFI. Other features include an industry standard pinout, a 50 µs transient response time, 150 µA off state current, 1.5 kVdc isolation voltage, output synchronous rectification, 2:1 input voltage range, input-to-output isolation, soft start, short-circuit protection, thermal protection, under-voltage protection, and external synchronization. Measuring 63.5 m x 35.56 mm x 19.05 mm, the converters operate in temperatures from -40°C to +71°C. Single-unit prices start at $98.10. BETA DYNE, INC., Bridgewater, MA. (508) 697-1993.
