A new front-end power system and a rectifier have been designed to deliver up to 500W of output power each in a 1U, low-profile enclosure. Both the CFP500 Series and CDP500 Series measure 1.59" x 3.38" x 10.9" long, giving them each a power density of

A new front-end power system and a rectifier have been designed to deliver up to 500W of output power each in a 1U, low-profile enclosure. Both the CFP500 Series and CDP500 Series measure 1.59" x 3.38" x 10.9" long, giving them each a power density of more than 9W per cubic inch. The CFP500 Series is a bulk power system developed for distributed power applications requiring a +48 Vdc front end. The CDP500 Series is a rectifier with a –54 Vdc output suitable for battery charging and telecom applications. Both accept an input voltage range from 90 to 264 Vac with active power factor correction. For additional power requirements, each series has an optional 19" rack allowing up to five modules to current share for N+1 redundancy or to be paralleled for increased power at up to 2,500W. For uncontrolled environments, the new power systems have integrated redundant diodes and a thermally controlled fan for operation between –20°C and +70°C with derating. All models meet international safety agency standards and carry the CE Mark LVD. Standard features with each series include active current sharing between units, hot-swappable, no minimum load, output voltage programming, remote on/off, ORing diodes, over-temperature, and over-voltage and over-current protection. Pricing for each starts at $342/1,000. XPIQ INC., Holliston, MA. (508) 429-9883.
