Designed for use with 12” to 17” industrial-grade LCD panels, the LS6Q-1612A-RH inverter for driving cold-cathode fluorescent lamps (CCFLs) provides dual LCD panel capability, enabling it to drive four panels. It features brightness and backlight on-off control and a 5V alarm output, which activates if the inverter detects a CCFL open condition. The backlight driver provides an input of 12 Vdc and an output current of 3.3 to 6 mArms per lamp. The device’s CCFL driving circuit includes a self-oscillating dc/ac converter that minimizes EMI when compared to other control methods. Total power output is 4W per lamp, or 16W total. The LS6Q-1612A-RH measures 150 mm x 50mm x 10 mm, requires a 1.5-kVrms startup voltage, and handles a 2A maximum input current. Price is $42.54 each in OEM quantities.
