Residing in RoHS-compliant SMD and SIP packages with industry-standard footprints and pin-outs, the Senpai series non-isolated, point-of-load (POL) converters target intermediate-bus and distributed-power architecture applications. The components feature a wide input-voltage range from 6V to 14V and provide both programmable and fixed output voltages from 0.75V to 5.5V. Depending on the model, output current is 5A, 10A, or 16A. All models in the series feature remote on/off, over-current and over-temperature protection, output-voltage adjustment, and compatibility with standard trim equations. At a 3.3V output in an ambient temperature of 85°C with 100 LFM of airflow, the 5A and 10A units deliver full output current while the 16A provides 14A. Prices for the 5A, 10A, and 16A converters are $6, $10, and $12 each/1,000, respectively. FDK AMERICA INC., San Jose, CA. (408) 432-8331.
