Quarter-Brick Can Output Up To 60A

April 1, 2003
Operating with input voltages from 36V to 75V, the ALQ quarter-brick dc/dc converters are available with 2.5V, 1.8V and 1.2V outputs with a maximum output current of 60A. A 3.3V output converter with a maximum load current of 40A is also available.

Operating with input voltages from 36V to 75V, the ALQ quarter-brick dc/dc converters are available with 2.5V, 1.8V and 1.2V outputs with a maximum output current of 60A. A 3.3V output converter with a maximum load current of 40A is also available. Targeted at distributed power architecture (DPD) applications, the new dc/dc converters come housed in an open frame package standing only 9.65 mm high and feature what is reported as a clean monotonic output startup characteristic and the industry's highest efficiency in their class. Regulation is at less than 1% and output stability is said to be reliable with a varying load impedance. The converters also feature over-voltage, over-current and over-temperature protection and under-voltage lockout with hysteresis to prevent false triggering at low input voltages. And they include an output-enable pin with positive and negative logic options, a trim pin for adjusting output, and remote-sense pins to compensate for output dropouts. Operating temperature range is -40°C to +85°C. Volume pricing starts at $85 each. ASTEC POWER, Carlsbad, CA. (760) 930-4600.
