The LTC4155 15W, I2C-controlled PMIC employs a switching PowerPath topology that seamlessly manages power distribution from two input sources¾wall adapter and USB port to the device’s rechargeable lithium-ion battery¾while providing power to the system load when input power is limited. The device allows output load current to exceed the current drawn by the input supply. For example, when powered from a 5V/2A wall adapter, the IC’s switching regulator efficiently transfers over 90% of the available 10W, enabling up to 2.4A charge current. Available in a 28-pin, 4 mm x 5 mm QFN, pricing starts at $4.07 each/1,000. LINEAR TECHNOLOGY CORP., Milpitas, CA. (800) 454-6327.
