Analog & Power: Low-Dropout Regulator Consumes Just 23 Microamps In Portable Systems

Designed to operate in a single-supply mode or a more efficient dual-supply mode, the MIC5238 micropower low-dropout (LDO) regulator consumes as little as 23 µA of bias current while supplying up to 150 mA of output current. The regulator, which supports input voltages from 1.5 to 6 V, is offered with outputs as low as 0.9 V. The SOT-23-5 device allows a choice of either ceramic or tantalum output capacitors. Prices in lots of 1000 start at $1.13 each, with delivery from stock to eight weeks.
