In a package measuring 4.9 mm x 3 mm x 1.1 mm, the SiP1759 buck-boost regulator provides a stable, 3.3V fixed output, or 2.5V to 5.5V variable output voltage, via input voltages from 1.6V to 5.5V. It delivers a continuous output current of 100 mA and specifies a quiescent current of 60 µA. Power consumption in shutdown mode is less than 1 µA. Other features include an operating frequency of 1.5 MHz, foldback short-circuit protection, soft-start, and an open-collector, digital power-OK pin that signals when the output is out of regulation. Additionally, the device serves as a pin-for-pin replacement for the MAX1759 dc/dc converter and is available in the same 10-pin MSOP. Price is $1.95 each/1,000.
