Buck Controllers Offer Three Output Voltages

June 2, 2010
The MAX15048 with tracking and MAX15049 with sequencing debut as low-cost, three-output synchronous step-down controllers.

In addition to integrated tracking/sequencing for seamless control over core and I/O voltages, the MAX15048 with tracking and MAX15049 with sequencing debut as low-cost, three-output synchronous step-down controllers. Both devices drive external MOSFETs to deliver a regulated 0.6V to 19V output voltage and up to 15A of load current per output. They operate from a 4.7V to 23V input range and each PWM section operates from a programmable switching frequency from 200 kHz to 1.2 MHz. Other shared features include digital soft-start/soft-stop, power-good circuitry, lossless valley-mode current limiting, hiccup-mode output short-circuit protection, and thermal shutdown. Prices start at $3.10 each/1,000. MAXIM INTEGRATED PRODUCTS, Sunnyvale, CA. (800) 998-8800.
