The 1.5A AP5101 buck converter in an SO-8 package operates at a fixed, 1.4-MHz switching frequency, resulting in a size reduction of the inductor and other external components. The device delivers a constant output current up to a 1.5A peak with an efficiency to 92% over an input range of 4.75V to 22V.  Other features include an adjustable output from 0.81V to 15V, cycle-by-cycle current limiting, and thermal shutdown.
