The NDS series surface-mount dc-dc converters are high-power-density devices in a 24-pin dual-inline package with a low profile of just 8.5 mm. The units, the newest additions to the One-SMarT line of SMT converters, provide up to 10 W of output power. These distributed-power-architecture-compatible products operate from an input voltage range of 36 to 75 V dc. Models are available with single outputs from 1.5 to 5 V dc. All units provide basic insulation and input-to-output isolation of 1.5 kV dc. Continuous short-circuit protection, remote shutdown, and output voltage trim adjust capabilities are other features. Operating at temperatures up to 100°C, the devices also offer high-level lead coplanarity. The NDS series converters cost $29 each in 500-unit quantities. Evaluation units are available immediately from stock. Production quantities typically require a lead time of six to eight weeks. JEDEC trays are also available for use in high-volume surface-mount lines with vacuum pickups.
