Groomed to improve power efficiency, the NCP5387 and NCP5382 multi-phase buck controllers address power apps in servers and for VR10.x, VR.11.0 and Parallel VID based desktop personal computers. Both controllers employ the company’s dual-edge pulse width modulation (PWM) technology and combine differential voltage and current sensing, and adaptive voltage positioning. The NCP5387 is a 2-, 3-, or 4-phase controller suitable for VR10.x, VR11.0, and Parallel VID desktop computing systems. The NCP5382 is a 4-, 5-, or 6-phase controller suitable for servers and other low-voltage, high-current power supplies. Available in lead-free QFN-48 (NCP5382) and QFN-40 (NCP5387) packages, prices are $1.75 and $1.27 each/2,500, respectively. ON SEMICONDUCTOR, Phoenix, AZ. (800) 282-9855.
