Designed to increase battery life, the TPS6210x family of buck converters with integrated FETs provides up to 94% efficiency, a maximum operating frequency of 2.5 MHz, and a multi-mode programmability feature that lets users optimize the converters.

Designed to increase battery life, the TPS6210x family of buck converters with integrated FETs provides up to 94% efficiency, a maximum operating frequency of 2.5 MHz, and a multi-mode programmability feature that lets users optimize the converters. They are available in four operating frequencies ranging from 300 kHz to 2 MHz. Users can synchronize the device to an external clock to achieve an operating frequency of 2.5 MHz. The converters can be programmed for any of three operating modes: fixed-frequency mode for noisy environments; variable-frequency mode for low output current applications; and the automatic-frequency mode that switches back and forth between fixed and variable modes. Other features include a shutdown mode, three modes of overload protection, and a duty cycle of 100%. Price is $2.81 each/1,000.
