Adding to the Di-POL family of programmable digital power conversion/management ICs, the PX7522 dual-output, dual-phase dc/dc converter regulates two independent outputs, or two phases in a single output mode. It supports both DCR and RDSON current sense topologies, an output range from 0.5V to 8V, and employs PMBus and on-chip non-volatile memory. Configurations for the device are loaded, edited, and saved to memory over the I2C interface via the company's GUI. Other features include an operating voltage of 5V, switching frequency range of 150 kHz to 1 MHz, programmable current-sense temperature compensation, compatible with both tri-state and non-tri-state FET drivers, fault protection and reporting with user-configurable fault behavior, digital control loop, active voltage positioning, sequencing, margining, and tracking of the output voltage, a configurable PWM generator, start-up into pre-biased load, and an oscillator. Sampling now, the PX7522 is available in a 40-lead, RoHS-compliant 6 mm x 6 mm QFN package. PRIMARION, Torrance, CA. (866) 321-7746.
