DC/DC Converters Boost Efficiency

May 24, 2011
Delivering continuous load currents up to 3A, the AP6507 and AP6508 synchronous DC/DC buck converters feature an operating efficiency as high as 90%.

Delivering continuous load currents up to 3A, the AP6507 and AP6508 synchronous DC/DC buck converters feature an operating efficiency as high as 90%.  With input voltage ranges of 4.5V to 18V and 4.5V to 21V, respectively, the components support low voltage 5V and 12V bus systems. Using an external resistor divider, outputs are adjustable to as low as 0.8V. Prices for the AP6507 and AP6508 are, respectively, $0.70 and $0.78 each/10,000. DIODES INC., Dallas, TX.
