Addressing the bandwidth challenges of digital home networking, the company's recently unveiled technology promises to allow next generation power-line products to operate at a peak data rate of 400 Mb/s. Reportedly a milestone, the technology forecasts the development of unique HD-capable multimedia applications such as multi-channel HD-IPTV delivery and multi-room PVR. Notably, the 400-Mb/s technology will be compatible with existing 200-Mb/s products, ensuring a seamless migration path for existing users, and will comply with evolving standards.
