Dual-Output, 350-W AC-DC Supplies Target Patient-Contact Medical, Industrial Apps

Feb. 18, 2014
Applications that require a dual-output supply in a standard 4- by 6-in. footprint could consider XP Power’s EMH350 series of ac-dc power supplies.

Applications that require a dual-output supply in a standard 4- by 6-in. footprint could consider XP Power’s EMH350 series of ac-dc power supplies. The two outputs, rated up to 200 W each, offer a combined maximum output of 350 W. Featuring a typical efficiency of 87%, the five models in the series provide a combination of six different output voltages from 12 to 60 V dc. Outputs also can be connected in series to deliver a single output up to 120 V dc. All models include an additional 12-V/0.6-A fan output and a 5-V/2-A standby output. Signal and control function include ac OK/power fail, inhibit, current share, and remote sense. Two mechanical versions of the supply are available: a 4.00- by 6.00- by 1.57-in. “U” channel format without a fan, and an end-fan option that integrates a variable-speed fan. The supplies comply with the third-edition medical safety standard ANSI/AAMI/EN/IEC 60601, including risk management. Medical approval cover body-floating (BF) applications, where end equipment may be connected to the patient.
