The Endura ISL6529 dual regulator IC targets the video and graphics market. Housed in a 14-lead SOIC package, it can power both a graphics processing unit (GPU) and SDRAM memory. It includes one synchronous-buck pulse-width modulation (PWM) controller for high-current supply to the GPU and a lower-current linear regulator to supply power to memory circuits. Both regulators are n-channel MOSFETs. Direct drive (12 V) for the upper MOSFET eliminates the need for additional components. For design flexibility, outputs are fully adjustable from 0.8 to 3.3 V. Additional features include a high operating frequency of 600 kHz and 2% voltage-regulation accuracy over temperature. Available now, the ISL6529CB-T (on tape-and-reel) costs $0.75 each in 1000-unit quantities.
