Fairchild Power Switches Trim Thermal And On Resistance

Oct. 8, 2008
For portable designs operating under 30V, the FDMJ1023PZ and FDFMJ2P023Z power switches operate with gate voltages as low as 1.5V while claiming 75% lower on resistances and a 66% lower thermal resistance than comparable devices. Employing PowerTrench

For portable designs operating under 30V, the FDMJ1023PZ and FDFMJ2P023Z power switches operate with gate voltages as low as 1.5V while claiming 75% lower on resistances and a 66% lower thermal resistance than comparable devices. Employing PowerTrench technology, the devices reside in 2 mm x 1.6 mm SC-75 packages. The switches specify an on resistance of 160 milliOhms at Vgs= -2.5V and a thermal resistance of 89 °C/W. Additionally, they feature lead-free terminals and meet reflow requirements of the joint IPC/JEDEC standard J-STD-020. Prices for the FDMJ1023PZ and FDFMJ2P023Z are $0.51 and $0.48 each/1,000, respectively. FAIRCHILD SEMICONDUCTOR, San Jose, CA. (800) 341-0392.
