An innovative topology similar to a standard forward converter with special magnetics is said to yield dc-to-dc converters that can output 300W in a standard full-brick-footprint (4.50" x 2.40") package. This is said to be 50% more power than competing devices can deliver. The PD301 Series converters also can achieve operating efficiencies as high as 90% and offer total isolation of input, output and baseplate- the baseplate is also thicker to improve thermal performance.Other PD301 converter features include: over-voltage and over-current protection; thermal shutdown; frequency synchronization; and input voltage ratings of 24V, 48V, 150V or 300V and outputs of 3.3V, 5V, 12V, 15V, 24V and 28V. Output voltage can be trimmed and the units can be paralleled. Industrial and military grades also are available.
