A series of dual power control high-side switches is designed for self-powered and bus-powered Universal Serial Bus applications. The A2525EL/EM (single-channel) and A2526EL/EM (dual-channel) switches feature active-high enable inputs, while the A2535EL/EM and A2536EL/EM are active-low devices. Each meets all USB requirements, which each channel supplying up to 500 mA required for downstream devices. The switches' low on-resistance permits achieving the USB voltage drop requirements. Fault current is limited to 750 mA and a flag output is available to indicate a fault condition on the local USB controller. All switches feature 3.3V to 5V logic-compatible enable inputs. Thermal shutdown is provided to prevent catastrophic switch failure from high-current loads. Undervoltage lockout ensures that the devices remain off unless a valid input voltage is present. Switches come in 8-pin SOICs and 8-pin miniDIPs.
