Incorporating a planar-chip design that is fine-line processed, the K series IGBTs are said to operate at a frequency of 15 kHz with a 30% to 50% lower total power loss than competitive devices currently being marketed. The series consists of dual, half-bridge modules with current ratings of 100A, 150A, 200A and 300A. The devices incorporate a fast- and soft-recovery diode, which is claimed to aid in reducing EMI and turn-on power loss. Targeted applications for these devices include use in inverters operating in 690V ac power lines and high voltage specialty power supplies. Prices range from $130 to $348.
