Setting its mark as exhibiting the industry's lowest current usage, the ISL21009 voltage reference consumes 180 mA maximum over an operating temperature range from -40°C to +125°C with a temperature drift of 3 ppm/°C depending on the version. The device works with an input-voltage range up to 16.5V and delivers output voltages of 1.25V and 2.5V with a guaranteed initial accuracy as low as ±0.5 mV. Making it a viable candidate for control and data-acquisition applications, the reference specifies an output-voltage noise of 4 µVp-p from 0.1 Hz to 10 Hz. Other features include an output-current capability ±7 mA. The ISL21009 is available in three versions: B (3 ppm/°C), C (5 ppm/°C), and D (10 ppm/°C). Each version comes in an eight-lead SOIC package. Prices are $4.04 (B), $3.74 (C), and $2.65 (D) each/1,000. INTERSIL CORP., Milpitas, CA. (888) 352-6832.
