Designed for DDR memory-bus termination, the FAN 1654 low dropout (LDO) regulator with bi-directional output is capable of sourcing and sinking 1A and able to handle transient loads up to 1.5A. The Vrr outputs on the device include force and sense pins to maintain accurate voltage levels on the bus. A buffered VREF output capable of ±5 mA is provided for SSTL-2 interface devices. Other features include a shutdown control for turning off the device's outputs and a Vtt output that is protected against overload and short circuit conditions by on-chip thermal limiting. Operating over a temperature range from -40ûC to 125ûC, the device is available in a 16-lead, exposed-pad TSSOP and a 14-lead SOIC. Price is $0.95 each /1,000.
