The surface-mount LT3083 3A LDO regulator is easily paralleled for heat spreading and higher output current. Adjustable via a single resistor, paralleling is accomplished between multiple regulators using a small length of PC trace as ballast. Other features include an input voltage range from 1.2V to 18V, a current dropout of 310 mV, programmable output from 0V to 17.5V, and a regulation and output noise figure of 40 µVrms.
