LDOs Directly Mate With AAA Batteries

Jan. 1, 2002
Capable of accepting inputs directly from two AAA batteries, the TPS721xx and 722xx low dropout regulators (LDOs) accept input voltages from 1.8V to 5.5V. The TPS721xx outputs 150 mA while the TPS722xx outputs 50 mA of current. The devices are

The devices are available in 1.5V, 1.6V and 1.8V fixed outputs with a noise figure of 30 µVRMS. Employing a PMOS topology, they are stable with a single equivalent series resistance and a 0.1 µF ceramic output capacitor. In addition, the TPS793xx and TPS794xx are available in 1.8V, 2.5V, 2.8V, 2.85V, 3V, 3.3V and 4.75V fixed-output voltages and are adjustable over a range of 1.2V to 5.5V. Prices range from $0.35 to $0.45 each/100,000. TEXAS INSTRUMENTS INC., Santa Clarita, CA. (800) 477-8924, ext. 4500.
