Particularly suitable for always-on applications, the MAX16999 low-output voltage linear regulator is capable of delivering up to 100 mA of output current while consuming 13 ?A of quiescent current. To further reduce power consumption, it provides an enable input for placing the regulator in shutdown mode where it consumes 0.3 ?A. Available in 13 factory-preset output voltages ranging from 0.5V to 3.3V, the device eliminates the need for external feedback resistors. Deployable in harsh operating environments, other features include over-current and over-temperature protection, power-on-reset circuitry with adjustable timing, and an operating temperature range from -40?C to +125?C. Available in a thermally-enhanced, eight-pin microMAX package, prices start at $0.70 each/1,000. MAXIM INTEGRATED PRODUCTS, Sunnyvale, CA. (800) 998-8800.
