The ADP3404/05 are multifunction power management ICs, optimized for GSM cell phones. With an input voltage range of 3V to 7V, the ICs are suited for both single cell Li-Ion and three-cell NiMH designs. The products feature four anyCAP low dropout regulators (LDOs), each optimized to power one of the four critical GSM subsystem blocks: digital, analog, crystal oscillator and RTC. In addition, the products have been optimized for maximum battery life, featuring a ground current of only 230 µA when the phone is in standby. Under-voltage lockout (UVLO) prevents handset startup when there is not enough battery life. The ADP3405 can be used with any GSM baseband chipset, and has been optimized for the companyÕs AD20msp425. The ADP3404 has a different core voltage and LDO sequencing than the ADP3405. It is companion to the companyÕs SoftFone AD20msp430 baseband chipset, and can also be used with other manufacturersÕ baseband chipsets. The ADP3404 and ADP3405 are offered in narrow-body 28-lead TSSOPs and operate over a temperature range of -20¡C to +85¡C. The ADP3404/05 are available now for $3.84 each/1,000.
