Debuting as the first member of the Di-POL family, the PX7510 performs digital programmable power conversion and power management for non-isolated dc/dc converters while keeping tight reins on the budget. Highly configurable, the device relies on PMBus and non-volatile memory to provide user-friendly control and real-time system monitoring. Configurations are loaded, edited, and saved to memory over an I2C interface via a graphical user interface. The chip operates on a single 5V supply and has a switching frequency range of 150 kHz to 2 MHz. Capable of current sharing, it can adapt from single-phase to multi-phase operation by synchronizing up to four controllers. Additional features include voltage and temperature referencing; an oscillator; current, temperature, and 12V sense telemetry; single-pin current sharing for dual- and multi-phase operation; digital control loop and active voltage positioning; configurable PWM generator; fault protection and reporting; programmable fault behavior; and start-up into pre-biased loads.
