Capable of reducing costs for manufacturing portable and wireless products, ILC6382 series of step-up dc-to-dc converters comes in an MSOP-8 package that’s 50% smaller than many other such devices. The devices also eliminate the need for an external diode while providing true load disconnect in shutdown mode, completely disconnecting from the battery during shutdown. They include battery detector with a built-in battery debounce, external frequency synchronization, and power-good output indicator. A 0.9V minimum input voltage feature extends battery life in portable applications. The step-up converters can deliver 375 mA output current, depending on input and output voltage. And they come in 3.3V and 5V fixed output-voltage versions, as well as an adjustable version that is rated up to 6V.
