When compared to competitive offerings, the IMP1232LP microprocessor supervisor's power consumption is said to be at least 40% lower. The microprocessor supervisory circuit features user-selectable watchdog timeout period and selectable threshold level. The chips monitor the processor 5V power supply and through a watchdog timer will restart a "hung-up" microprocessor. Typical applications include network hubs, data acquisition systems, portable instrumentation, automotive control systems, intelligent instrumentation and industrial control systems. Available in 8-pin SO, DIP, MicroSO and 16-pin SO packages for both commercial and industrial temperature ranges, the devices are priced from $0.70 each/1000.
