Tiny LDOs Charge For Battery-Powered RF Apps

Targeting battery-powered RF products, the MIC5255/6 low drop out regulators (LDOs) in tiny SOT-23 packages draw just 90 µA in operation and 0A in the off mode. The devices' dropout voltage is specified as 135 mV at 150 mA and the output settles in less than 10 µs from a change in load. The MIC5255 provides a noise bypass pin, reducing output noise to 30 µVRMS. The MIC5256 includes an error flag to indicate an over-current, thermal-shutdown, or dropout condition. Prices start at $0.50 each/1,000. MICREL, INC., San Jose, CA. (408) 944-0800.
