Useful for protecting electrical components in hazardous (classified) atmospheres, including those containing flammable gases, dust and fibers, MZ-Series shunt-diode safety barriers are ultra-thin one-, two- or three-channel Zener barriers that are only 7 mm wide. Many models are available with secondary replaceable fuses for protection against start-up faults that could blow the internal, non-replaceable safety fuse. When latched in the disconnect position, the secondary fuses eliminate the need for additional disconnect terminals. Active barrier models are designed for use with transmitters, switches and solenoids and have built-in overvoltage protection circuits for use with unregulated power supplies up to 35V.
