Ethernet Devices Team For Factory Automation

June 1, 2000

These Fast Ethernet 100-Mb/s switches, rail hubs, and rail transceivers have been developed specifically for the automation market. The RS2 series Fast Ethernet rail switches operate at 100 Mb/s in half-duplex mode and 200 Mb/s in full-duplex mode. Requiring little to no configuration, the ruggedly-built RH2-TX Fast Ethernet rail hubs offer controlled network expansion capability and 24V operation. Designed for 100-Mb/s operation, the RT2 series Fast Ethernet rail transceivers can extend a transmission route up to 2000 meters if a multi-mode optical-fiber line is being used, or 40 kilometers if single-mode is employed.
