Brakes Claim To Triple The Torque Of Conventional Models

product pic

A series of extreme torque brakes, called the "XT" Series, claims to offer triple the torque of comparable brakes in a smaller, conventional package. These brakes are about 1/3 the size of a standard brake, but perform the same as their larger, heavier counterparts. This makes for a cost saving replacement as well as a space-saving solution.
The brakes employ a friction material and in some cases, allow for a coefficient of friction approaching 1.0, 0.75 to 0.95 depending upon pressures and unit size. Suitable applications include robotics, computer chip and clean room handling equipment, automation machinery, medical equipment, and other high-tech applications requiring the highest torque in a small package.
