1553 DESIGN GUIDE—Targeted toward the MIL-STD-1553 community of hardware and software design engineers with 1553/1760/1773 interface or test requirements, the sixth edition MIL-STD-1553 Designer’s Guide is an essential reference tool for working within and adhering to the standard. To facilitate ease-of-use, the guide is divided into sections. Section I provides an overview of the philosophy and implementation of MIL-STD-1553 and related standards. IT also includes a comparison of 1553A and 1553B, as well as an overview of MIL-STD-1760B. Section II includes a copy of MIL-STD-1553 and an interpretation of the rationale behind various paragraphs in the standard. Sections III and IV contain copies of Notices 1 and 2 to MIL-STD-1553B, while Sections V and VI present the production and RT validation test plans, respectively. Descriptions of the firm’s 1553 data bus offerings are provided in Section VII.
