Resulting from a joint effort with FuturePlus Systems, the FSI-60075 takes center stage as the industry's first interposer analysis probe for next-generation DDR2 SDRAM buses. The probe works with the company's 16700 series logic analyzers and performs design and debug tasks at up to 533 megatransfers per second (MT/s) using any JEDEC standard DDR2 DIMM. Compared to similar tools, the probe does not require users to solder memory chips, registers, and PLLs onto the probe. It inserts into the target memory socket, while accepting a memory module in the probe's straddle-mount DIMM slot. The slot's vertical design minimizes the horizontal keep-out area, allowing installation of the DIMMs in adjacent slots. Additionally, the probe's in-line configuration and interposed DIMM keeps connection lengths short, allowing for operation at full DDR2-533 speeds. Price for a basic analysis probe is $9,122.
