Digital Torque Meter Replaces Two Sensors

June 3, 2010
MCRT79700V Series dual-range torque meters accurately measure torque even if the ratio of peak to average torque is high.

Eliminating the cost of swapping between two or more conventional torque sensors when production switches between different products, the MCRT79700V Series dual-range torque meters accurately measure torque even if the ratio of peak to average torque is high. Additionally, when peak torques are unknown, the component reduces the risk of damage from unexpected or accidental torque spikes. Other features include a LOW range that is 20% of the HIGH range, three simultaneous analog outputs that can be individually set to 5V or 10V at each range full scale, an over range from 150% to 300%, and a mechanical overload at 200% of the HIGH range and 1,000% of the LOW range. Digital output of torque, speed, and power is available with option Z over the resident RS-232 serial port. S. HIMMELSTEIN & CO., Hoffman Estates, IL. (800) 632-7873.
