Expanding the company's OTS family of optical-test products, the OTS9300 module will allow users to complete testing of a variety of optical standards from SONET/SDH DWDM to OC-192. The module includes a unique Poisson error-generation scheme. Instead of appearing at steady and predictable intervals, the errors follow the Poisson mathematical distribution.Consisting of one transmitter card and one receiver card, the multi-rate module adds three data rates: 2.5 Gb/s, 622 Mb/s and 155 Mb/s. It also addresses the unframed rates of 1.24 Gb/s and 2.66 Gb/s for Gb Ethernet and forward error correction (FEC) bit error rate testing (BERT). Prices start at $15,000 for the multi-rate transmitter and $26,000 for the multi-rate receiver. For further information, call TEKTRONIX, INC., Beaverton, OR. (800) 426-2200, press code 1225.
